Heterocyst lineage description system

Anabaena sp. PCC 7120 is a model organism to study differentiation of heterocysts, which are specialized in nitrogen fixation.
However, no one has ever described complete lineage of cells that become heterocysts.
We succeeded in recording the fate of individual cells in a single filament (also called trichome).
HLDS is used to construct lineage tree of heterocysts.
